Jeremy Fowler reports Aidan O’Connell “probably has the slight edge” over Gardner Minshew for the Raiders starting quarterback job.

Minshew signed a two-year deal with the Raiders this offseason so he was expected to be the starter, but O'Connell appears to have gotten off to a good start in camp. It'll likely be a battle to monitor all throughout training camp and preseason action.

The Raiders could draft a QB, or they could look into the free agent or trade markets as well.

Over that nine-game span, O'Connell completed 61.5 percent of his passes for an average of nearly 212 yards per contest with an 11-to-5 TD/INT ratio. The fourth-round pick out of Purdue has certainly given the Raiders much to consider regarding the team's future at quarterback. O'Connell certainly could end up being their guy going into next season.
