Rhamondre Stevenson
RB - New England Patriots
2024 Outlook
The Patriots and Rhamondre Stevenson agreed to a four-year, $36 million contract extension.
Fantasy Impact
Stevenson had told reporters earlier in camp he was expecting to agree to an extension with New England. The deal includes $17 million of guaranteed money. He figures to remain the lead back in what could be a completely new offense in New England under offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. The big question for his fantasy value will be how much of the third down work Antonio Gibson commands.
Rhamondre Stevenson told reporters he’s “pretty close” to reaching an extension with the Patriots.
Fantasy Impact
Stevenson is coming off a down season where he averaged a career-low 4.0 yards per carry. He also suffered an ankle injury that ended his season early. He could lose some work in the passing game to Antonio Gibson this year, but should remain the lead back on the early downs. Stevenson is entering the final year of his current contract.
New England Patriots RB Rhamondre Stevenson has been placed on the team's injured reserve list, effectively ending his season.
Fantasy Impact
Stevenson had been working through an ankle injury and, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, was close to a return. However, given the Patriots' position as a franchise (in line for a top-five pick in the 2024 NFL Draft), it made more sense to sit their RB1 to let him heal for next season. He finished his junior season with 857 scrimmage yards and four touchdowns in 12 games. Ezekiel Elliott will take charge in Weeks 17 and 18.
Rhamondre Stevenson has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Broncos.
Fantasy Impact
Stevenson will be sidelined for at least one more game. Ezekiel Elliott should remain the workhorse in the Patriots backfield.
Rhamondre Stevenson was not at practice on Friday.
Fantasy Impact
It will be another week of Ezekiel Elliott leading the backfield for the Patriots. He is in the RB2 conversation with RB1 upside.
