Fantasy Impact: Gipson spent 2023 with the San Francisco 49ers, starting 19 games between the regular season and the postseason (including the Super Bowl). The veteran safety will turn 34 in August and has played 12 seasons in the NFL, seeing somewhat of a career resurgence in S.F. (career third-best PFF defensive grade in 2023 — 73.6). If he does sign with a team, he will be forced to miss some time, assuming his team does not win a potential appeal.

Fantasy Impact: Pearsall signed a four-year, $12.5 million contract with San Francisco. The rookie wide receiver was a bit of a surprise back in April as a first-round pick. His immediate fantasy value will likely be largely dependent on whether or not the 49ers trade Brandon Aiyuk or Deebo Samuel.

The Falcons and Michael Penix Jr. have agreed to terms on his rookie contract. (Source: Jordan Schultz on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Penix gets a four-year deal worth $22.88M. His signing bonus is $13.46M. He'll open the season backing up Kirk Cousins, assuming the veteran is healthy as he comes off a torn Achilles.

The Green Bay Packers have claimed kicker James Turner off of the waiver wire. (Source: Mike Garafolo on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: Turner was recently released by the Detroit Lions, sending him to the waivers. Green Bay brings him in for training camp where he can compete with their incumbent starter from 2023 — Anders Carlson — who was not the most productive leg in the NFL during his rookie season (27/33 FG; 34/39 PAT). Turner went undrafted in 2024 out of Michigan where he was a national champion, and an All-Big Ten second-teamer after a successful kicking year (18/21 FG; 65/66 PAT — career stats of 81.3% FG and 98.4% PAT).

Fantasy Impact: Stevenson had told reporters earlier in camp he was expecting to agree to an extension with New England. The deal includes $17 million of guaranteed money. He figures to remain the lead back in what could be a completely new offense in New England under offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt. The big question for his fantasy value will be how much of the third down work Antonio Gibson commands.

The Chargers and Ladd McConkey reached a four-year deal with the most guaranteed money in NFL history for a 34th pick. (Source: Ian Rapoport on Twitter)

Fantasy Impact: The deal beat the QB premium for the same pick in ‘23, carrying the most guarantees over a pick below in the round. McConkey figures to have a chance to compete for a huge target share in his rookie season in a wide open wide receiver room.
